The Red Magazine is all about embracing the bold. It celebrates the impact this color has among creative industries and is a source of inspiration for fellow red lovers. Throughout this project I learned a lot about what makes an appealing spread. What makes you want to read? What is overwhelming and what is underwhelming, and how the use of type can make or break a reader's experience.
I had tremendous growth in my typography skills through designing this magazine. I spent significant time testing different type styles in order to obtain a look that complimented the feeling I wanted the magazine to have. Because red is a bold color, it needed bold type. I had so many inspiring references that made me want to create something just as compelling and original.
