In this challenge, I designed 5 book covers that all have the same information, but have differing rules I needed to follow to complete the composition. Each one uses the same typeface: Museo Sans. The different rules were as follows:
1. One Weight, One Size
2. Two Weights, One Size
3. One Weight, Two Sizes
4. Two Weights, Two Sizes
5. Any Weight, Any Size (must also add shapes and/or lines)
It was through this exercise that I learned the power of typography. By taking away scale in some cases and weight in others, I was able to learn from and adapt to the circumstances. There are so many ways we can use Typography to enhance the visual experience. Playing around and finding solutions that fit the challenge was a valuable experience in my journey of learning power typography can have in a composition.
